In 2011, Carla worked on the Grammy award winning project Raymond vs. Raymond (Usher) and was also nominated in 2012 for her work on Trin-I-Tee 5:7’s Angel & Chanelle. Carla has written and co-written songs for several albums, nationally syndicated TV shows, and helped to produce two #1 albums for independent artist Dawn Richard (Armor On & Goldenheart).
Carla directed a regional music program for the Microsoft Store in Century City, California and also teamed up with Crenshaw High School and Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) in 2015, to teach music production to at-risk students. Carla, is in her 3rd year teaching Songwriting at Icon Collective Music Production School (a Music Production College in Burbank, California) and has also led monthly workshops at 1500 Sound Academy in Inglewood, CA.
Carla teaches songwriting in a supportive and inspirational environment. Lessons focus on teaching students the process of creating original melodies, chords and lyrics. Each week, students perform practical exercises and write lyrics to strengthen their songwriting skills. These exercises are designed to broaden rhyming skills and also add individuality and color to songs - giving your songs the standout quality they need.
